News Update: Senate Passes SNT Fairness Act
The Special Needs Trust Fairness Act passed the Senate on Wednesday, September 9. Now on to the House of Representatives. The Special Needs Trust Fairness Act lets individuals with disabilities, who have the capacity, to create their own special needs trusts. Under the current law, only a parent, grandparent, guardian, or court may establish a special needs trust. Providing these individuals with the ability to take responsibility of their lives is critical. Special needs trusts allow persons with disabilities to supplement daily living expenses when government benefits alone are insufficient to meet their needs. Please contact your House Representative to build support.
